Service Description

NO LONGER OPEN TO NEW ATTENDEES. Essential 11+ preparation. Maximum 8 students in session. This will be a purposeful and proactive ongoing group which will initially focus on understanding the whole group's needs, before branching off into learning age-appropriate methods for answering questions and problem-solving according to the requirements of GL 11+ exams (also appropriate for local independent school entry). Autumn 1 sessions are currently anticipated to run as follows (although may be subject to change according to the needs of the group) Sessions will run on Wednesdays from 5.30 pm, for 45 minutes per session. Session 1: 6th September 2023 An overview of the 4 disciplines of 11+ (English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning) Session 2: 13th September 2023 English Skills - alphabetical order, word classes Session 3: 20th September 2023 English Comprehension Session 4: 27th September 2023 Verbal Reasoning - based on alphabetical order and comprehension of words/phrases Session 5: 4th October 2023 Maths - Place Value and Addition Techniques Session 6: 11th October 2023 Maths - Place Value and Subtraction Techniques Session 7: 18th October 2023 Non-Verbal Reasoning - Similarities, Odd one out Session 8: 25th October 2023 Non-Verbal Reasoning - Series, Codes Sessions delivered via Zoom. Meeting entry details will be sent once payment has been made. You will receive a confirmation email that payment has been made. Please await a later email which will detail your personal Zoom meeting details for your chosen appointment slot. As part of this service, we assume that you will check if you can connect to these Zoom meetings before the commencement of your first session. Refunds/extra time cannot be given for late arrivals. Missed sessions are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations: Single Examinations: - We require at least 2 weeks’ notice before the exam date. - NO changes to exam sessions or times can be made within 2 weeks of the exam date. - Cancellations made up to 14 days in advance will receive a 100% refund. - Cancellations made within 14 days of the exam date will NOT be issued a refund. Cancellations: Multiple exams/package bookings/online groups with full half-term bookings: - Cancellations to multiple exam bookings can only be made within the first 14 days of purchase. After this time, if your child is unable to attend an exam, we will transfer your booking to a classroom-based mock exam at our tuition centre in Cofton Hackett, to be held at a mutually agreed time. - If for any reason we cannot hold an event, due to situations that are beyond our control, our in-person events will take place online and no refund will be provided. - No refunds will be issued for cancellation of online groups for full half-term bookings once sessions for that half-term have started. Cancellation of Ad-Hoc Online Sessions: - Up to 24 hours in advance: Sessions can be cancelled for a full refund up to 24 hours in advance. - Less than 24 hours in advance: If cancelled between 12-24 hours in advance, sessions will be refunded at 50% of the fee paid (eg. a refund of £20 would be given for an original session fee of £40) If cancelled between 6-12 hours in advance, sessions will be refunded at 25% of the fee paid (eg. a refund of £10 would be given for an original session fee of £40) - No refunds are issued under the following circumstances: a) The session is cancelled with less than 6 hours' notice. b) The session was originally booked only 6 or less hours in advance. Refunds: - We aim to issue refunds within 7 days of confirmation of cancellation. This cancellation/refund policy is specific to this service (11+ Mock Examinations Service) and, due to the fundamental difference in how this service is operated and disseminated, the cancellations/refund policy specific to the mock examinations service takes precedence over any other cancellation policy issued by Birmingham 11+ Mock Examinations Services or by Mrs BC's Tutor Room. All other Terms and Conditions remain the same.
